149 artworks of artists from India and abroad will be displayed in this art exhibition
On the occasion of 75 years of India’s independence and under the banner ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’
The “Second International Print Biennial India” is being organized by Lalit Kala Akademi at Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai from 5th Dec to 13th Dec, 2021, in which about 149 works of artists from India and abroad will be displayed. Apart from this, a special section and an invitee section will also be displayed to commemorate the birth centenary year of iconic artist Somnath Hore.
Hon’ble President of Lalit Kala Akademi, Dr. Uttam Pacharne said that five prizes of Rs 2 lakh each and ten honorable mentions will be presented by the Akademi in the International Print Biennial.
We would also to tell that from the last six decades, Akademi is striving for the promotion of arts and artists through its art programs, activities and schemes. International Print Biennale is one such effort through which national and international level printing artists are provided a platform for performing arts and exchange of genres.
The first Print Biennale was organized by the Akademi in the year 2018, in which 177 works of artists from India and abroad were displayed.
Chhapakala is famous all over the world, this genre has its own importance in the country and abroad, so through the organization of this biennale, the Akademi has been providing an international platform to the artists of Chhapakala.
In the exhibition of this print about 149 works of artists from Argentina, Bangladesh, France, Germany, Israel, Nepal, Mexico, Netherlands, Peru, Poland, Russia and America along with artists from India. will be displayed. This will be a golden opportunity for art lovers.
